Governance Structure: The State Library of Ohio is governed by a five member board appointed by the State Board of Education and serving five year terms.

Allied and Other Special Operations:
The State Library Talking Book Program coordinates library service for blind and physically impaired Ohioans as part of the national network headed by the Library of Congress. The MORE (Moving Ohio Resources Everywhere) Statewide Resources Sharing Project is a patron initiated and patron centered statewide circulation system, currently under development. The State Library is the fiscal agent for the Ohio Public Library Information Network (OPLIN). OPLIN provides residents of the State of Ohio fast, free internet access through the state telecommunications network, as well as the use of high-quality research databases not freely available on the World Wide Web, through their local public libraries. Libraries Connect Ohio which can be found at http://librariesconnectohio.org is a collaborative effort of the State Library and the three networks: OhioLINK, OPLIN, and INFOhio. The purpose of this collaborative effort is to provide a core set of electronic resources to all Ohio residents.
Number of Service Outlets: The main library in Columbus and the Serving Every Ohioan (SEO) Library Center is located in Caldwell.
Collections: The State Library of Ohio's catalog contains approximately 900,000 items which circulate to the public on a walk-in basis. Particular strengths in this collection include: government documents, business, management, education, health, and criminal justice.
Staff: 71 State Library of Ohio employees and 5 OPLIN employees. Of the 76 employees, 1 would be considered part time.
