Governance Structure: The Chief of Library Services heads the Office of Library and Information Services (OLIS)which reports to the Director of the state Department of Administration who in turn reports to the Governor. OLIS has responsibility for carrying out state and federal programs related to libraries. A Library Board of RI appointed by the governor with advice and consent of the state Senate advises the governor and the Chief Library Officer on library policy and planning.
