This position provides direct supervisory support for library team and staff and the responsibility for cultivating their professional development. It also provides leadership for statewide library development, improvement and services with a primary focus on public and school libraries. Responsibilities include facilitating the development and implementation of a vision for library development and services within the Department, facilitating the creation of both short- and long-term library service strategies and associated implementation plans, as well as establishing effective and supportive relationships through outreach across the state library community. Additionally, the position will coordinate the public library system state aid program, the federal Library Services and Technology Act funding program, the Library Certification program, digital content and statewide library service contracts, and the state interlibrary loan program. This position also oversees the school library media program including providing guidance on the use of Common School Fund.
