COSLA Supports 19th Annual National Book Festival

COSLA is pleased to support the attendance of State Libraries, Centers for the Book, and Humanities Councils at the 19th Annual National Book Festival to be held August 31, 2019, at the Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C.

The National Book Festival, organized by the Library of Congress, brings together best-selling authors and book fans for author talks, panel discussions, book signings, and a variety of activities for children and families.  For the 10th year, COSLA will be promoting participation in the Festival including financial and facilitation support for travel and materials development.   This project was made possible in part by the Institute of Museum and Library Services RE-00-18-0135-18.

Each state in attendance will have a table within the Pavilion of States on the lower level of the Washington Convention Center. Our states provide information on key programs within their library communities, highlight their local authors, and many states give away fun keepsakes like bookmarks, coloring pages, stickers, and magnets. It’s a busy but wonderful day, sharing our love of libraries with everyone who visits.

For more information about the National Book Festival, please follow the blog and keep an eye on the main website for updates on this year’s activities. If you need more information on how COSLA supports the National Book Festival or how you can participate, please contact Laura Woodard, COSLA’s lead contact for the festival.
